What we hold, and why

A competition that publishes its entrant list has to be straight about data. This is everything we keep, everything that is public, and how to get rid of the rest.

What we hold

Your email address, your handle and city, your entries and ticket numbers, your payment record, and any message you send us.

Where a prize is paid we also hold the identity and age verification documents required to pay it, and the bank details used for a cash alternative.

Why we hold it

To run the competition you entered, publish the entrant list, contact a winner, pay a prize, meet our legal obligations, and answer you when you write to us.

We do not sell data, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not build profiles for targeting beyond your own notification preferences.

What is published

The entrant list shows a ticket number with the handle and city holding it. The leaderboard shows handles and cities. Winners are named on the site and in the broadcast.

Handles appear as initials by default, and any member may choose to appear as an anonymous member instead, on every public surface, at any time.

How long

Entrant lists and draw records are kept indefinitely, because a published draw must stay checkable.

Payment records are kept for six years as required. Verification documents are deleted within 90 days of the prize being paid. Account data is deleted on request except where a legal obligation requires otherwise.

Your rights

You may ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to a use of it. Write to us and we answer within one month.

You may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at any time, and you do not have to raise it with us first.
